Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Evaluations

Fee: $175

Emotional Support Animal (ESA) evaluations are designed to determine whether an emotional support animal may be clinically appropriate as part of an individual’s mental health care and disability-related needs.

An ESA evaluation is a clinical assessment and includes consideration of symptoms, emotional functioning, mental health history, and the therapeutic role an animal may provide.

Evaluation Includes:

• Clinical interview with a licensed mental health professional

• Review of mental health symptoms and current concerns

• Assessment of emotional and functional impairment

• Evaluation of the relationship between the individual and their emotional support animal

• Review of ESA benefits, limitations, and clinical appropriateness

• ESA documentation provided when clinically appropriate

Provider Training & Continuing Education
